Whether you’re a diehard fan of stand-up comedy or just looking for a night filled with laughs, make sure to mark your calendar this summer! For one night only, award-winning comedian Iliza Shlesinger is coming to New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) in Newark on August 19, 2022.

Shlesinger will be taking the stage at Prudential Hall Betty Wold Johnson Stage at 7 p.m. as part of her global tour, “Back in Action”, which was initially scheduled to run in 2020 but postponed due to the pandemic.

Since its kickoff, “Back in Action” has been on the receiving end of glowing reviews. Common praise include its dealing with topics such as feminism and self-esteem alongside the promise to deliver the same signature Shlesinger humor as her past specials.

This actor-writer-comedian rocketed to fame after winning NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” in 2008. She is the show’s youngest winner and is also the only female titleholder to date. Since then, Schlesinger has become one of America’s most beloved comedians with five stand-up Netflix specials under her belt and no shortage of quotable moments.

Schlesinger’s career is nothing short of prolific. From podcasts to cookbooks, she’s done it all. Her shows have been known to sell out regularly and are always packed with devoted fans— many sporting custom merchandise inspired by Schlesinger herself.

Additional ventures you might know her from include movies like “Spenser Confidential” alongside Mark Wahlberg and “Pieces of a Woman” opposite Vanessa Kirby. She also recently wrote and starred in “Good on Paper” on Netflix.

“Back in Action” is one show among NJPAC’s 2022 stand-up comedy roster. Other performers slated to join this year’s star-studded in-person comedy lineup are John Mulaney on July 29, Fortune Feimster on October 14 and Kevin James on November 4.

If you’re looking for an unforgettable way to spend a summer night that is sure to leave you laughing, buy your tickets for “Back in Action” now. Tickets start at $53.50 and are available for purchase at the box office or on the NJPAC website.
