A New Jersey manufacturer is at the center of a major nationwide recall involving more than 350,000 units of iron-containing vitamins and dietary supplements. Some of the most recognizable wellness brands and retailers are affected.
Vitaquest International—which is based out of West Caldwell—issued the recall after it was determined that the products were distributed without child-resistant safety caps, in violation of the federal Poison Prevention Packaging Act. Iron can be highly toxic if ingested in large quantities, particularly by young children.
No injuries or deaths have been reported in connection with the recall. You can read more about the recall here.
