Seaside Heights has been recognized as one of the top party beach towns in the United States, according to a Hotels.com ranking.

The Ocean County town landed at No. 5 on the list, standing alongside some of the most famous nightlife destinations in the country. Known for its boardwalk, arcades and clubs, Seaside Heights has long been a draw for summer crowds seeking both daytime amusement and late-night energy. Seaside Heights was also the setting for the legendary MTV reality TV show, Jersey Shore.

The list was led by Miami Beach, Florida, followed by Waikiki Beach in Hawaii, Isla Blanca Beach in Texas and Venice Beach in California. Seaside Heights joined other East Coast entries including Fire Island, NY, Ocean City, MD and Virginia Beach, VA.

California and Florida claimed two spots each.

Hotels.com highlighted Seaside Heights’ mix of bars, beach access, dance clubs and boardwalk attractions, noting its ties to Jersey Shore as an entrenched part of its nightlife identity.

The ranking places New Jersey in the company of destinations better known for international tourism. So, could the shore town be the next big destination for international tourists?
