Which Towns in New Jersey Got the Most Snow?
Sussex County took the hardest hit, with snowfall totals reaching 17 inches in Branchville and Stockholm, according to NJ.com.
Morris, Bergen, and Passaic counties tailed just behind Sussex, Multiple towns across these three counties reported between 14 and 16 inches of snow. North Jersey—and specifically Northwest Jersey—took the hardest hit, while South Jersey recorded lower snow totals.
Snow Totals at a Glance
The highest snowfall totals were recorded in Sussex, Morris, Bergen, and Passaic counties, regularly topping 12 to 15 inches.
More than 10 inches of snow hit Essex, Hudson, and Monmouth, Union, and Warren counties.
In South Jersey, totals ranged from 5 to 10 inches—still causing widespread travel disruptions and closures.
School districts across New Jersey canceled Monday classes. Some districts announced delayed openings on Tuesday.
Road conditions worsened overnight as sleet mixed with snow—refreezing on road surfaces to create dangerous black ice. If travelling today, pay extra caution when driving over bridges or untreated roads.
The snow is expected to linger. Forecasts call for bitter cold and subzero wind chills throughout the week, increasing the risk of ice and slowing cleanup efforts across the state.
