Yankees Minor League Affiliate Welcomes Acclaimed Pizzeria To the Ballpark

Take me out to the ball game,

Take me out with the crowd;

Buy me some pizza, a slice or two,

I don’t care if I never get back.

That’s how the lyrics go, right? It’s National Pizza Day and the New Jersey pizza world has a great reason to celebrate. The Yankees’ Triple A affiliate, the Somerset Patriots, are welcoming a local pizzeria as the official pizza of TD Bank Ballpark where they play. In a social media post, the Patriots announced the partnership, naming Prima Pizza Kitchen the official pizza of the ballpark starting in 2024.

People rave about Prima Pizza Kitchen; their pizza is simply some of the best in New Jersey. And now, with them being added to TD Bank Ballpark, it won’t just be Prima regulars who are raving about it.

This isn’t the first time that artisan pizza has made its way into professional baseball stadiums. Citi Field—home of the New York Mets—added legendary NYC pizzeria Patsy’s as one of the stadium dining options last season.

Pizza is nothing new to New Jerseyans and still, the hype surrounding great pizza never seems to stop growing. The Somerset Patriots adding Prima Pizza Kitchen to TD Bank Ballpark is the latest example of this. Not only will baseball fans be exposed to some of the best pizza in NJ, but the franchise is simultaneously uplifting a local business. It’s a win-win.
