5 Handmade Soap Shops in NJ

Artisan soaps are always in demand for those who crave natural and organic skincare. Using natural skincare has many benefits. For those with sensitive skin, sustainably made products could be safer and healthier. The environmental perks of using handmade soaps are also abundant. Organic soaps generally don’t use synthetic ingredients. For those who are don’t like to use products that are animal-tested or want to be more eco-conscious, here are five NJ soap shops that carry cruelty-free, organic soaps. 

1.Cynplicity Artisan Soaps – Collingswood, NJ

Cynplicity, located in Collingswood, NJ, sells handmade, French-milled soaps using natural ingredients. These include high-quality oils and butters such as olive oil, coconut oil, shea butter, and mango butter. In addition to soaps, they also sell natural deodorant, hair oil, lotion, and bath bombs.

2. Steam Soapery – Chester, NJ

Steam Soapery is a hip soap shop that sells bath and shower products, as well as fragrance and hair essentials. They have an extensive selection of soaps made from different kinds of natural ingredients, including goat milk, organic oils, organic flowers, and essential oils. If you are into exfoliating, they also have a selection of body polishes made from coffee or Himalayan salt. They also carry detangling and texturizing hair sprays and interior products such as room sprays and candles.   

3. Nyah Beauty – Kearny, New Jersey

This black-owned business specializes in clean skincare. Nyah Beauty crafts soaps for skin that’s prone to sensitivity and irritation. “Our pledge is to handcraft plant-based skincare options free of detergents, phthalates, and other potentially irritating ingredients,” says their website. They sell soaps, body scrubs, lotions, and candles. They also have a selection of gift sets that come with a lotion, soap, and soap dish. Their best-selling product is the oatmeal and honey soap which incorporates honey, oatmeal, olive oil, and coconut oil.

4. Shore Soaps – Cape May and Stone Harbor, NJ

This skincare boutique carries products that are 100 percent vegan and cruelty-free. Shore Soaps makes sure to use high-quality ingredients that are plant-based and free from any preservatives and parabens. They carry soaps, scrubs, face-care products, grooming products for men, and soy-based candles. Shore soaps also offer a service where they can arrange their products into party favors for guests. 

5. Taproot Organics – Jersey City, NJ

Taproot has got it all. From men’s grooming products to hemp/canna infused items, this organic shop has everything that a self-care routine needs. Their most popular products include a clay deodorant stick, natural bar soaps made with organic oils and butters, whipped shea body butter, and a hemp-based joint relaxing balm. Some of their more unique products include marzipan and beer soaps.
