Hudson County’s Best Outdoor Dining

It seems like our friend Punxsutawney Phil was right this year, because spring is definitely on its way. With temperatures climbing to the 60s and 70s throughout the month of March, it’s (hopefully) time to put away our shovels and bring out our warm weather apparel. With so many places to see and eat, now is the perfect time to check out Hudson County’s best outdoor dining.

Backyard Bliss

Bin 14

Being Hoboken’s first and original wine bar, this Italian/American restaurant features an array of small plates, or tapas, and a list of wines that you can sample in small groups. But possibly the most charming factor of Bin 14 is their private backyard patio. With a rustic design, enough seating to host a private party, and heated lamps for those chilly spring and summer nights, this outdoor space is the perfect spot to drink and dine.

Dozzino

Though it’s tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the main Hoboken streets, Dozzino is not to be missed. This artisanal joint is BYOB and specializes in wood fired pizza with authentic toppings to please every pie lover. After you choose your pizza, check out the backyard patio space, and when you’re done dining, play some bocce ball. The restaurant has a full court in the back, so grab your favorite drinks, some friends, and make this your new summer hangout.

The Dubliner

Right in the main hub of Hoboken sits The Dubliner, an Irish owned bar that offers more than just your regular bottled beers. This tri-level bar has a menu of favorite snacks and even margaritas on the rooftop tiki bar, which is a rare find outside of NYC. Get your friends together and enjoy happy hour specials or spend the night in the casual outdoor setting.

City Bistro

This tri-level Hoboken favorite offers everything from brunch to dinner, but don’t let that fool you into thinking it’s just another restaurant. City Bistro boasts a menu full of American style favorites, from breakfast pizza to braised short ribs, and a bar serving wine, sangria, and speciality cocktails. Relax and dine among the sidewalk seating or check out the rooftop, which has a full bar and beautiful skyline views, along with TVs for games and areas to socialize.

Blue Eyes

A newer addition to the Hoboken waterfront scene, Blue Eyes is an Italian Eatery and Cafe that offers all of your Italian style favorites, from wood fired pizzas and pastas to espresso and gelato. As the weather warms up, the restaurant has a raw bar facing the Hudson and a gelato stand for the kids (and kids at heart). With specials everyday of the week, now is the perfect time to dine on the water and take in the view, for brunch, lunch, dinner, or just for a few drinks.

Pier 13

Needing no introduction, Pier 13 is a favorite for locals and non-Hoboken residents alike. Opened from May-October, Pier 13 hosts something different every night, from happy hour specials to Tuesday movie nights, to giant Jenga. Different food trucks from the NJ/NY area give guests dining options, while the bars offer beverages from summer beers, to punches and sangrias, to non-alcoholic drinks for the kids. Pier 13 also offers paddle boarding and jet skiing, so there is no excuse to stay in doors this spring/summer.
