My first memory of the New York City skyline came when I was just three. I watched through the window as the concrete phoenix rose from beneath the swamps of the Meadowlands. I clutched onto my Micro Machines lunchbox and for the first time felt like I was connected to something bigger. In Hudson County, we get to feel like that everyday—whether we realize it or not. The impressive sights can turn something as simple as lunch into a waterfront adventure.
I’m not alone when I say the only thing we love more than the views are the food and spirits around here. With the high quality of restaurants and bars in our own backyard, we’re almost guaranteed a good meal, but going out means more than just eating and drinking—it means being connected. So, if you want to make your night (or day) out even more special, pick the place with the best view, because hey, it’s all about perspective.

Waterside
If you want to get away from the congestion and dine with some class, make your way up to Waterside in North Bergen. It is true Hudson with a Miami attitude, which makes it a great destination for everything from wedding receptions to birthday dinners. If you’re thinking brunch, the name says it all.

Battello
One of Newport’s shining stars, Battello, is known for more than its great Italian food and charming bar. The harbor view of Lower Manhattan from the dining room is an experience in itself. A great place for lunch, brunch, dinner, or just a cocktail. If the view doesn’t blow you away, the food will.

Kamegashi Too
If you want fresh sushi, go near the sea. If you want a good view of NYC, go to Newport. If you want both , go to Komegashi Too. Al- though the sushi and sashimi are the stars of the menu, ice cream tempura with a view of the Hudson is the icing on the cake.

Surf City
This summer, you don’t have to go far to get some sand in between your toes. Our favorite seasonal waterfront spot serves up some of the tastiest seafood with a great view of the harbor and the city. Between the cocktails and the palm trees, you’ll feel like you’re on vacation.

Zylo at W Hotel
This is one of the most remarkable views of the New York City skyline Hoboken has to offer. The modern decor gives it great character, and there’s nothing I love more than a restaurant that has room to stretch your legs. The only thing that’s better than the view is their rib eye.

Land On The Roof
City Bistro
With a view of Manhattan and a killer rooftop ambiance, City Bistro is everything we love about being on the Hudson. If the journey uptown leaves you weary, head upstairs for a drink. You won’t want to miss Sunday brunch on the roof this summer at City Bistro.

The Dubliner
As one of the few rooftop bars in Hoboken, it’s the perfect place to “take that edge off” any time of day. If you’re heading downtown this summer to watch a ballgame, you won’t want to skip The Dubliner (or their wings).

Porta
Porta is anything but your typical pizza place. One of JC’s newest hot spots, the restaurant is now adding a rooftop terrace. Armed with a full bar, delicious pizza, and some darn good espresso. Consider adding Porta to your list.

The Iron Monkey
This is one of the best craft beer spots in town, with great bar fare, board games, and three floors of fun. Be sure to pop in for happy hour on the roof this summer. I can hear the shuffleboard calling my name already.

Their rooftop terrace takes you to another world. Smack in the center of Downtown Jersey City, Skinner’s Loft is the perfect place for brunch or a romantic date. If the vintage roof decor doesn’t make you feel at home, the staff certainly will.
