The search for Nancy Guthrie, 84, mother of “Today” show anchor Savannah Guthrie, has entered its 24th day.
The Tucson, Arizona woman was first reported missing on February 1 after she never showed up at a friend’s house for a planned gathering. Authorities believe she was taken from her home the night before.
Savannah Guthrie and her family announced a $1 million reward for information leading to her mother’s return. The family is also donating $500,000 to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in response to the horrifying story.
Savannah posted a video online, urging anyone with information to come forward.
Nancy Guthrie, who has mobility issues and requires daily medication for a heart condition, was last seen at her home in the Catalina Foothills neighborhood. Law enforcement has since released doorbell camera footage showing a masked, armed man near her front door. DNA evidence gathered from gloves found nearby the scene is being analyzed to help identify the suspect.
The FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Office are leading the investigation, with hundreds of tips received since February 1. After mandatory investigations, all family members have been cleared as potential suspects. Savannah Guthrie emphasized that the $1M reward is solely for her mother’s safe return, not an arrest.
The family continues to plead for information.
Anyone with firsthand knowledge of Nancy Guthrie’s whereabouts is urged to contact the FBI tip line at 1-800-CALL-FBI.
