WOODLAND TOWNSHIP, N.J. — Firefighters are working to control a wildfire that broke out in a forested area off Route 72 in Burlington County, New Jersey.
The fire, reported early Monday, has burned several acres of woodland in the area. Emergency crews from multiple departments are on the scene, deploying resources to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading further.

No injuries or structural damage have been reported at this time. Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the fire. Thankfully, due to thunderstorms in the area, the New Jersey Forest Fire Service says the rainfall helped to suppress the fire.
Residents in the vicinity have been advised to avoid the area and follow local guidance regarding smoke and air quality.
The New Jersey Forest Fire Service is leading the response and is expected to provide updates as conditions change.
