A sprawling Italian grocery chain—known for fresh mozzarella, store-made pastas, Italian imports, and a stocked espresso bar—is opening its first South Jersey location.
Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace is a Long Island-based grocer with 13 operating stores, mostly across New York and North Jersey. Now, the brand is expanding to the Philadelphia metro with stores in Moorestown, NJ and King of Prussia, PA.
It will be the first time Burlington County gets to experience the magic that is Uncle Giuseppe’s, which brings a sort of whimsy to grocery shopping that fans of the store have grown to love. In a statement, CEO and co-founder Carl DelPrete said the new Moorestown location “gives us a chance to reach customers in South Jersey and continue growing in a market where people already know Uncle Giuseppe’s.”
Part of the allure of Uncle Giuseppe’s is the quality-first approach. Shoppers watch as their fresh mozzarella is stretched right in front of them, pasta rolled out in plain sight, and meat and seafood departments that give the best grocery chains a run for their money.
In addition to the hand-made delicacies, Uncle Giuseppe’s carries many hard-to-find imports, like DOP tomatoes, private label olive oils, imported flours, and rare cheeses. Additionally, an espresso bar, ready-to-eat meals and catering, and standard items you would expect to find at any grocery store—making it a true, one-stop shop.
Uncle Giuseppe’s is poised to open at East Gate Square at 1311 Nixon Drive in Moorestown in 2027. The new store will span about 57,000 square feet. Hiring has reportedly already begun.
It will be the brand’s fourth location in New Jersey, with stores in Ramsey, Tinton Falls, and Morris Plains.
