The digital photobook platform, Mixbook, conducted a survey of 3,000 people aimed at determining the most charming main streets in the nation. The top 100 were named.

“Recognizing the unique allure and significance of these treasured main streets, our team embarked on a mission to celebrate them in a way they truly deserve. After an extensive survey of 3,000 respondents, we have meticulously compiled a list of the “Top 100 Most Charming Main Streets” in the nation,” says the Mixbook staff.

This list includes three entries from New Jersey: Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair, Bridge Street in Lambertville, and Washington Street in Cape May.

21. Bloomfield Avenue – Montclair, NJ

It’s no surprise to North Jersey locals that Montclair’s Bloomfield Avenue made the list. The stretch of road comes lined with shops, cafes, museums and some of the best dining options in the state. The area of Montclair combines historical charm with modern allure and design. It stretches on for blocks, but truth be told, you can make a day out of just one block at a time.

Let’s not forget the annual Montclair Film Festival and the Montclair Jazz Fest.

49. Bridge Street – Lambertville, NJ

Right along the banks of the Delaware River is this unbelievably charming street in Lambertville, NJ. Bridge Street exudes the historical value that is quintessential to the main streets of America. To go along with old-timey sites like the Lambertville House and the Lambertville Station are a network of cafes, restaurants and antique shop.

Bridge Street is a must-visit for NJ residents and with the weather warming, it’s a better time than ever to visit one of the most charming streets in America.

61. Washington Street – Cape May, NJ

Cape May comes lined with Victorian-era architecture that has become the backbone of the beach town’s intoxicating allure. On Washington Street, you’ll find ice cream, restaurants, antique shops and plenty of Cape May history to go around.

As a bonus, the three-block area is closed off to cars, making it a pedestrian center defined by its pure walkability.
