A large fire erupted on the roof of a luxury apartment building in Hudson Yards Thursday, sending thick black smoke over Manhattan. The blaze broke out just before noon at The Set, a high-end residential complex on 10th Avenue near West 35th Street.

Firefighters arrived at the scene shortly after reports came in, with crews working to contain the fire from spreading to other parts of the building. No injuries or fatalities have been reported, and the cause of the fire remains unknown.

Photos and videos shared on social media showed thick smoke rising above the city skyline, with some images taken from across the Hudson River in New Jersey. Witnesses captured footage from nearby office buildings and streets as the dark plume filled the sky.

The rooftop terrace of The Set, which includes amenities such as a swimming pool and lounge area, appears to be the site of the fire. The building, part of the upscale Hudson Yards neighborhood, offers apartments with rents starting around $7,000 a month.

The Citizen app, a local crime and safety reporting platform, indicated that firefighters had brought the fire under control by early afternoon.

Authorities have yet to release further details on the incident.
