October 2021 Horoscopes: Mercury & The Outer Planets Come Out of Retrograde

by Kaitlyn De Leonardis

In your October 2021 horoscopes, you can expect a lot of forward movement. The month begins with six planets in retrograde and ends with four planets moving direct again. Not only will Mercury come out of retrograde, but heavy hitters Jupiter, Pluto and Saturn will too. You may recall that these planets got together in Capricorn in 2020, acting as a major catalyst for change. We’re all still adapting and while these planets were in retrograde, we did some major reflectionwhether we are conscious of it or not. It is time to take what we have learned or observed and put it to practical use. Of course, Jupiter and Saturn are now in Aquarius, and their retrogrades placed an emphasis on our personal roles in society.

While the outer planets were in retrograde there has been an air of stagnation. Our need to move forward or make improvements may have been met with some resistance. Mercury’s retrograde only added to the confusion and inconveniences, but that changes in the month of October and we can cultivate so much-needed momentum.

October 2021 Horoscopes Important Dates:

New Moon in Libra, October 6: A clean slate and a fresh start in our relationships.

Pluto Direct in Capricorn, October 6: Extreme transformation in career goals, life’s aspirations and the way we individually define success.

Venus Transit Sagittarius, October 7: Venus in the sign of the archer will inspire adventures and exploration. We may want to gain more knowledge and understand life on a deeper level.

Saturn Direct in Aquarius, October 10: Reformation in a responsible manner. Since Saturn went retrograde in late May, we may have been picking apart a certain area of life. It’s now time to rebuild.

Jupiter Direct in Aquarius, October 18: Whatever we’ve been working towards with Saturn’s retrograde will expand and grow at a rapid rate, with a little luck thrown into the mix. We can now apply the wisdom we’ve gained since the planet went retrograde in June.

Mercury Direct in Libra, October 18: Communication issues and drama within relationships will be resolved.

Full Moon in Aries, October 20: A time to honor ourselves and the individual spark that makes us unique.

Sun Transit Scorpio, October 23: We’re being reintroduced to the core of our identities and how we show up for others.

Mars Transit Scorpio, October 30: This transit grants us the ability to feel passionate and brings out our natural sensuality.

Saturn emerges from retrograde on October 10 giving you the discipline to see a creative project through to completion. Good things will come with Mercury-Venus alignment on your side. With the Sun square Pluto, don’t pay any mind to the naysayers in your life. October 18 is the day both Mercury and Jupiter go direct. Over the last several weeks and months, you’ve learned a lot about yourself and now it’s time to truly step into that personal power. Mars trines Jupiter on the same day, connecting you to the unwavering determination of your inner child. Use it wisely.

While you’ve been hyperfocused on yourself, don’t forget about someone special on October 20. Under the full moon in Aries, be sure to give your love life the time and attention it needs. If a particular relationship has been toxic for a while now, this is the time to let it go. The Sun moves into Scorpio and closes out your season on October 23. You can truly step into your worth and settling is not an option. October 26 could be challenging when it comes to work. Venus will square Neptune and your heart just isn’t in it.
