DoneRight Döner Kebab Brings Authentic Turkish Flavors to Hoboken

Alondra Cabrera

DoneRight Döner Kebab has arrived in Hoboken, and they’re bringing delicious Turkish flavors to the heart of Washington Street. This is the second location for the brand, following its debut at Quaker Bridge Mall in 2023. And they couldn’t have picked a better spot. With heavy foot traffic and Hoboken’s vibrant nightlife, they’re bound to get business—and they certainly got mine.

DoneRight Döner Kebab is the kind of place that doesn’t cut corners. Everything is made in-house, from their deliciously fresh-baked bread to the creamy dips. You can taste the love and care they put into their food. The best part? It’s fresh and healthy. I devoured nearly half the menu and still felt great, which says a lot.

The heart of the menu is their döner—obviously, it’s in the name. Their döner is perfectly seasoned, stacked high, and slow-cooked until it’s dripping with juices. Oh, and it’s 100 percent halal. Every thin slice oozes with flavor, and you can get it in a sandwich, a wrap, or their signature “box” served over rice.

Now, let’s dive into what I ate. I kicked things off with the Mix DoneRight Sandwich, which combines the best of both worlds—lamb and chicken. This hefty sandwich, stacked with mixed greens, pickles, hot peppers, parsley, white sauce, and hot sauce, is loaded with meat and drenched in flavorful sauces. The crunch from the red cabbage was phenomenal, and I couldn’t get enough of the tangy dill in their sauce. I’ll admit, I was a bit nervous to take that first bite because I knew I’d need a napkin immediately. And yeah, it was messy—but totally worth it. The combination of flavors was insane.

Next, I tried the Pink Sultan Sandwich—I opted for lamb. What really caught my eye was the sauce—a striking pink, thanks to the beets. I was hesitant because I don’t like beets, but the owner told me he doesn’t like them either and still loves this sandwich. That sold me. I had to see if he was telling the truth. And you know what? He was right. The beet flavor takes a backseat to the punchy garlic in this yogurt-based sauce. It’s light, airy, and delicious. I’m really glad I gave it a shot because I wasn’t planning to. Sorry to all the beet lovers.

If wraps are more your style, DoneRight swaps their freshly baked gobit bread for house-made lavash, keeping that same flavor profile but in a different form. The Chicken DoneRight wrap packs juicy chicken döner with mixed greens, pickles, hot peppers, parsley, white sauce, and hot sauce. The heat builds just enough to keep things interesting, then gets balanced by the creamy white sauce. The mixed greens and pickles add the perfect crunch. I absolutely loved his wrap and find myself reminiscing about it as I type this.

To wash it all down, you can stick with American classics or go full Turkish. I tried the Efsane Uludag Gazozu Portakalli and the original Efsane Uludag Gazozu. The orange soda tasted just like Fanta, while the original pink soda leaned into a fruity berry flavor. Both were solid choices.

Turkish Treats at DoneRight

The dips deserve their own spotlight—baba ganoush, hummus, pink sultan sauce, and spicy ezme. All delicious and available to buy. The ezme might look like regular salsa, but one bite proves otherwise. It’s made with finely diced tomatoes, spicy peppers, onions, garlic, and parsley. It definitely brings the heat with a Mediterranean flair, and I was pleasantly surprised.

And if you’ve got room for dessert, you’re in for a treat. Their Dubai chocolate bar is served chilled and hits the spot. They have a whole bunch of dessert options. I got the baked rice pudding, and it was yummy. It’s more pudding than rice, with a smoky film on top that adds depth. It was light and not too sweet. The only thing that isn’t homemade is the baklava, which is imported straight from Türkiye. They have all kinds, even a chocolate version, which I didn’t know existed, and it was tasty.

DoneRight is already shaping up to be a must-visit. With bold flavors, fresh ingredients, and a menu that works for both a quick lunch and a late-night bite, they’ve got it all. They stay open until midnight most nights and keep the döner rolling until 3 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. They’re a go-to for anyone with late-night munchies. I just know that when I’m back in the area, I’ll be making my way here again.
