7 Fall Treats to Try at These NJ Shops and Restaurants

As the air cools and leaves fall off the trees, it’s the perfect time to indulge in some fall treats. From pumpkin to apple, cinnamon, and more, there are plenty of flavors to experience. Across New Jersey, there are plenty of restaurants and shops that sell fall-themed foods. Here’s a list of seven fall treats to try in NJ this season. 

1. Apple-icious donut 

Top That Donuts – Rutherford, NJ

We all know the fall-favorite apple cider donut, but have you had one quite like this? The apple-licious donut is a staple of Top That Donuts in Rutherford. Served warm and topped with apple filling and icing, this treat is sure to be the comfort food you need on those chilly fall nights. 

A single apple-icious donut costs $1.89, a half dozen is $8.99, and a dozen is $16.99.

2. Pumpkin cake in a jar

Bakery Reimagined – Morristown, NJ

At Bakery Reimagined in Morristown, you’ll find this vegan and dairy-free fall treat. The pumpkin cake in a jar is a pumpkin spice cake with creamy cashew frosting, sweetened with coconut sugar and maple syrup. The ingredients are all organic and preservative-free. Can’t pick it up at their store? No worries–you can order delivery. 

A 4-ounce jar costs $5.99 and an 8-ounce costs $9.99.

3. The Hayride

O’Bagel – Hoboken, NJ

This O’Bagel breakfast sandwich is packed with every fall flavor you can imagine. The sandwich starts off with a pumpkin spice french toast bagel, filled with an egg, sausage, cheddar cheese, homemade apple butter, and caramelized onions. Note, this is only available at O’Bagel’s Hoboken location, so make sure to visit. 

The hayride is $8.25.

4. Pumpkin Smasher beer

Pilsner Haus Biergarten – Hoboken, NJ

Head to Pilsner Haus Biergarten in Hoboken to check out this domestic beer out of Big Muddy Brewing. Brewed with pumpkins and pumpkin pie spices, this is going to be any pumpkin and beer-lover’s perfect combination. You’ll also taste hints of caramel and aromatic malts when you sip on this 6 percent ABV beer. 

A 12-ounce mug of Pumpkin Smasher beer is $8. 

5. Apple cake

Little Daisy Bake Shop – Montclair, NJ

To celebrate fall and heading back to school, Little Daisy Bake Shop has recently brought back their apple cake. As part of their back to school celebration, they also released candied and chocolate-covered apples. Combine that with an apple cake, and you will be enveloped in the fall spirit.

6. Pumpkin pie chai tea latte

UCity Coffee and Crepes – Union City, NJ

Now that’s a lot of flavors. Head out to UCity Coffee and Crepes in Union City to try out their pumpkin pie chai tea latte. Pumpkin spice is always a fall favorite, especially in coffee. UCity has taken the staple even further by adding it to a chai tea latte. If tea isn’t your thing, fear not. They have the iconic pumpkin spice latte for you to enjoy, too. 

The pumpkin pie chai tea latte is $4. 

7. Pumpkin pancakes

Original Pancake House – West Caldwell, NJ

Fluffy, warm, and pumpkin-flavored, you have to try this fall take on a breakfast staple. Original Pancake House in West Caldwell is known for their crazy and unique pancakes, so it’s no surprise that they dove into the fall-flavored realm of foods. Imagine how great these could taste with some cinnamon and maple syrup.
