The Manhattan Amateur Classic, otherwise known as “The MAC”, celebrates its 26th annual dance competition. The MAC is a three day competition, January 15 – 17 2016, in Jersey City NJ, featuring America’s top amateur dancers (and dancers from around the world), amazing music and heart pounding performances. This in-person dance competition, takes both dancers and audiences into the world of Latin and Ballroom dancing. If you like “Dancing With the Stars” this is a live event you don’t want to miss.
               The MAC will be offering all ages (Preteen through Senior IV) in all four styles, and in all proficiency levels. The WDSF Junior II Latin and Standard will be held on Friday and Saturday nights, with the Junior II National qualifying events held on Sunday during the Jr. MAC. Mixed Proficiency is again being offered  this year are the Same-Sex events. Audiences will have the privilege of experiencing incredible the athleticism and artistry of the more than 1000 dancers of all ages. In addition to youth and adults from around the world, more than 20 college teams from across the country will compete for the right to represent their school at the USA Dance National Championships. Featured events will include the World Dance Sport Federation (Junior II Standard and Latin Open Competitions) showcasing couples from around the world.
         the MAC    The MAC is presented by the Greater New York Chapter of USA Dance, recognized by the US Olympic Committee as a Multi-Sport Organization.
USA Dance, is the National Governing Body for DanceSport in the United States. With more than 150 chapters in America, it is also the representative organization for all social and recreational Ballroom and Latin dancers in America, ranging from pre-schoolers to seniors.

The event sessions take place Martin Luther King Weekend, January 15 – 17, 2016. Day sessions begin at 8am (Friday, Saturday and Sunday).
Night sessions begin at 6pm (Friday and Saturday).
