‘Tis the Season for Summer Reading
Even though summer reading might drum up some less than pleasant childhood memories, like most things today, it’s improved with time. Meaning, the programs are a lot more fun than I remember.
The Hoboken Public Library has already started their countdown to summer reading, which kicks off in June and runs throughout August. The Hoboken Public Library will be hosting a Library Festival on Saturday, June 8th in Church Square Park that will celebrate the season with musical performances, activities for all ages and a surprise appearance by one of their favorite authors.
This year will also mark the introduction of the Hoboken Public Library’s pop-up Learning Center at the Hoboken Housing Authority. Their new literacy corner is next to Mame Johnson Field and visiors can stop by to get books of all genres and age brackets, use the Center’s computers or WiFi or check out the quiet study space.
In addition, the Hoboken Public Library will also be accepting registrations for their annual summer reading program which is designed to help young readers stay on track and of course, provide a fun space for them to learn new things and make new friends.
