On November 10th, Engel & Völkers’ charitable division, EV Hoboken Cares, threw their fourth annual Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Gala at the W Hotel in honor of friend and former Engel & Völkers Hoboken owner, Nicholas Costantino. For nearly 50 years Costantino battled CF and on August 4th, 2016, sadly passed away. But before doing so, he created the Gala as a way of keeping his philanthropic efforts alive and as a means to shed light upon this rare and debilitating disease.

Since the Gala’s inception, they have raised over $200,000 and all the proceeds go directly to the CF Care program at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in Manhattan. The non-profit organization was established to ensure that CF patients have access to everything they need, including special programs, in order to maintain their health and achieve their goals. The CF Care program stuck beside Costantino for 40 years and he attributed his successful life and career to the programs exceptional medical treatment and support.

The annual CF Gala hosted by EV Hoboken Cares is a must-attend fall event each year and includes local attendees and celebrities alike. This year, the Gala featured a special chef’s tasting where Hoboken and Jersey City restaurants contributed a signature dish. Notable vendors included the W Hotel’s Halifax, Biggie’s, City Bistro, Johnny Pepperoni, Bin 14, Anthony David’s, Madison Bar & Grill, Ben & Jerry’s, Choc-O-Pain, The Cliff, Dino & Harry’s, Del Friscos and Hamilton Pork. Guests were also treated throughout the night to a silent auction, cocktails and live music from The Bobby Lynch Band.

“We are overwhelmed by the support the Hudson County community has shown our event over the years,” said Engel & Völkers licensed realtor Lisa Troyano-Ascolese. “We look forward to keeping Nicholas Costantino’s legacy alive…it truly is a night to remember every year!”
