Ready to Rock, New Jersey?

Jersey Fest is Coming to White Eagle Hall May 18th

by Mike Ham

On May 18th at the legendary White Eagle Hall in Jersey City, the Greetings From the Garden State podcast will be hosting Jersey Fest, a party that will celebrate New Jersey and the people who make it great. With five amazing Jersey bands, NJ brews and spirits taking over the bar, local restaurants doing tastings, this is a night you are not going to want to miss.

The band lineup includes five up-and-coming acts that are sure to impress. Kicking off the night will be Natalie Farrell and Surfing For Daisy, two Asbury Park-based musical acts that have been releasing some incredible music recently. Reese van Riper, the “King of Jersey Swamp Rock,” is certainly ready to take the roof off of White Eagle Hall. Following them, Jackson Pines, is a popular band that ties back to Jersey’s unassuming roots in folk music. Wrapping up the night will be The Vaughns, a popular act that brings an energy level and vibe that is unmatched.

While the bands are playing, guests are going to be able to partake in some of the finest craft beers and spirits the state has to offer. Our current lineup of breweries includes Ghost Hawk Brewing Co. (Clifton), Glenbrook Brewery (Morristown), Twin Elephant Brewing Co. (Chatham), 902 Brewing Co. (Jersey City), Departed Soles Brewing Co. (Jersey City), and Hoboken Brewing Company (Hoboken). Asbury Park Distilling Co. (Asbury Park) will be providing the spirits served that evening, so there will certainly be something for just about anyone.

In our VIP area, Chef Jamie Knott, owner of Saddle River Inn, Cellar 335, Madame, Saddle River Cafe, and Kinjo, will be providing tastings of crispy pork belly bao buns and chicken “tiki masala” meatballs. The VIP area also includes a dedicated cash bar, dedicated bathroom, and a seat upstairs for the show.

There will be more added prior to the event prior to May 18th, but Jersey Fest is also actively looking for sponsors. The New Jersey Lottery recently sponsored the event and will be providing $5 Power Play scratch-off’s to the first 100 ticketed guests in attendance (18 yrs or older)!

Doors will open at 6pm and the show starts at 7pm. VIP tickets are on sale now for $60 (only in advance), while general admission tickets are on sale for $25 ($30 at the door). You can purchase tickets directly on White Eagle Hall’s website here: https://www.seetickets.us/event/jersey-fest/588283

What people are saying:

This is something we’ve been working on since launching the podcast in October 2021. Traveling NJ, meeting incredible people who are doing incredible things, I’ve always thought it would be a great night to bring in a bunch of friends and put on a party. We had the opportunity to host our first annual Jersey Fest at White Eagle Hall, and given its historical significance, as well as being an awesome venue, it was a no-brainer to set it up. Our lineup of Natalie Farrell, Surfing for Daisy, Reese Van Riper, Jackson Pines, and The Vaughns, a great cross-section of genres from 5 bands that are the next best things coming out of the Jersey music scene. Then bringing on NJ breweries, distilleries, and restaurants, as well as some other Jersey institutions like the New Jersey Lottery, we’re set to have a great night celebrating the Garden State and the people who make it great! – Mike Ham, Host GFTGS

“I feel like Jersey Fest is the perfect mix of Jersey artists on the rise in all different genres in NJ. We have the entire state represented in the bands, the participating breweries, sponsors, and vendors, and it’s a great way for someone who doesn’t leave their counties or bubble to try something else great that Jersey has to offer. Or, at the very least, just rock out, have some great drinks, and some fun.” – Crisi De Oteris, Assistant Event Coordinator at GFTGSP

“I’m beyond excited to be performing at Jersey Fest! It’s an honor to be celebrating the Garden State with phenomenal artists, vendors, and creators. This is going to be an epic night filled with fun, good vibe music, delicious drinks, and friendly faces. It will definitely be a night to remember.” – Natalie Farrell

“We’re excited to represent Central Jersey at Jersey Fest this inaugural year. Yea, it exists. Deal with it. We began working with GFTGS last year for an episode and quickly became friends. We’re honored they use our song as their theme, and we’re psyched to make our debut at White Eagle Hall with them on May 18th.” – Joe Makoviecki of Jackson Pines

“It’s such an honor to be included on the Jersey Fest bill alongside so many great bands that represent our great state of New Jersey! In addition to the tunes, NJ’s brews, boozes, and unique flavors will be on full display, making this even a must-attend event for anyone with Jersey Pride.” – Papa Reese of Reese Van Riper
