The Island Waterpark in Atlantic City, NJ, located next to the Showboat Hotel, is a highly-anticipated attraction set to open during Memorial Day Weekend 2023. Spanning over 103,000 square feet and costing a staggering $100 million, it boasts a retractable glass roof and plenty of thrilling attractions. Visitors will be treated to a multitude of exciting features, including a lazy river, 11 different water slides, various pools, and a wide array of outlet shops, bars, and restaurants. The World Record Academy has recognized this remarkable waterpark and when it opens, will become the World’s largest indoor beachfront waterpark.

The massive project was initially unveiled in 2020. Tower Investment, a Philadelphia-based developer, took ownership of a non-casino hotel in 2016. They took the lead in transforming the area between the Showboat and the Ocean Casino Resort into a state-of-the-art facility. The forthcoming attraction was designed by SOSH Architects, conveniently headquartered in Atlantic City. The architecture firm specializes in hospitality, healthcare, education, retail, dining, entertainment and corporate projects.

Additionally, the waterpark will feature an impressive 1,000-foot roller coaster. Deemed “The Cloud Coaster,” the attraction provides visitors with breathtaking panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and boardwalk. Thrill-seekers can also enjoy a cutting-edge zip line experience within the park. Moreover, there will be a remarkable 30-foot-tall tree house available for private party bookings, perfect for your next party or event.

As part of its expansion, Island Waterpark plans to leverage the success of Showboat’s Lucky Snake Arcade. This impressive 100,000-square-foot venue debuted last summer and boasts exciting attractions such as a sprawling 40,000-square-foot go-kart track and a vast collection of over 600 games. Island Waterpark aims to build upon the popularity and offerings of the Lucky Snake Arcade to enhance the overall entertainment experience for its visitors.

Of course, no park is complete without food options and The Island Waterpark will feature many. In addition to traditional vendors, the park will feature high-tech vending machines offering a variety of food options such as pizza, ramen and more. As it stands, these vending machines can only be found in Las Vegas and abroad, making Island Waterpark a pioneer for the technology on the East Coast.

After hours, the Atlantic City waterpark will transform into a nightlife hotspot. The adults-only venue will feature oceanfront views, music, drinks and more.

With the upcoming launch of The Island Waterpark, the Showboat Hotel will conclude the initial phase of its hotel renovations. This phase encompasses a comprehensive revamp of 477 guest rooms, featuring balconies that provide breathtaking views of the legendary boardwalk in an effort to restore Atlantic City to its former glory.
